Preparing for A2

We had been set an assignment which had involved to create a music video in order to prepare us for the upcoming year.
In the beginning of the day we were supposed to go to the media studio where we would be shooting a practice music video that involved one person performing, one person on camera, and one person who would supervise. Throughout the shoot we had rotated in the 3 roles. We had set up the studio beforehand and then set up the cameras on the tripods, except for one which had been placed on a dolly track. We performed in front of three different sets, one was in front of the green screen, one set with a sofa, and then one set was a cave wall.

One problem that we encountered was that some of the performers where quite shy, thus resulting in a lack of movement and they did not perform in their full potential. The other problem that we encountered was that in some shots we had to get in closer to the performers face, and since we had danced to the song “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk it is more of an up-beat song which would involve a lot more movement in dancing and movement, it had been a difficult job to keep the camera directly on the performers face. Another thing that had been difficult in the studio was that there was a limited amount of room which made it difficult to work in, when bumping to each other while operating the camera will cause your footage to become shaky and unusable.
One thing that was good about the song was that it is very enjoyable, which made it easier for some people to dance to. One thing that was very good when working in the studio is that it gives us experience in working together in a group on a set, this would give us a idea on how it would be like in a professional movie set. The most challenging part of the shoot was that since the studio had been too small for our class it had resulted in a crowded room and it had made it more difficult in filming 3 separate shots.

(Here is the picture of the room that we filmed in)
